Wedding Photography
I believe that wedding photography is not only about capturing your special day, but finding the essence of your partnership and expressing your feelings towards one another in a way you can visualise. The most beautiful pictures are often the ones that are impulsive. Although I do work with external lighting in my studio, I find the natural light works better for wedding photography, as it is a less intrusive and more candid style.
Finding the right photographer can be difficult, and the relationship between the couple and the photographer should feel relaxed. Consultations are complimentary and non-obligatory, so as well as allowing me to find out a bit about you and your wedding day, it also gives you the chance to get to know me. If you decide that I am the right photographer for you, then I would be honoured to be there on your journey.
An engagement or couple photoshoot gives me the chance to get to know you through my lenses in a way that I wouldn't be able to from just a conversation. It takes a couple photoshoot for you to really understand what you feel comfortable with and what works best for you. Some couples like to have direction and leave the posing to me so that they don't have to worry. Others prefer to talk, embrace and kiss each other and forget that I'm even there. There's no right or wrong way to feel about this type of photography and what you would prefer for your wedding day is completely up to you. It's far better to find out now than on the day! You can find examples of couple photoshoots here: Engagement and Couples.
A rehearsal is mainly done in religious ceremonies and gives the bridal party and close family and friends the chance to run through exactly what is going to happen. It also gives the couple the chance to practice their lines so they can get it right for the day! I tend to get a few preview shots here that can give you an idea of what to expect from me both during the wedding and afterwards. It also gives me a final itinerary for the ceremony and gives the officiant a chance to let me know of any photography restrictions during this time. Some of the most beautiful shots of the venue, rings and details can often be taken at the rehearsal.
Planning a wedding is very tricky and what you decide to do on your day is completely up to you. I offer various different Wedding Packages which cater for different timings and budgets. All of my packages include coverage of the whole ceremony, the bride's arrival, group photographs outside the venue, a couple photoshoot and at least some coverage of the reception. All enquiries are welcome and each package can be tailored to your needs.
