Complimentary Nicu Photoshoot Sessions
Bristol Neonatal Units, Southmead and St Michaels
For those that don't know, pictured below, is my daughter and second child. She was born at 33 weeks and transferred almost immediately to NICU. Her stay there was tough on all parties involved. Since having her and going through that journey with her, I have decided to offer complementary NICU sessions. These complementary photoshoot sessions are for the parents of other NICU babies. I hope that the photographs I provide will give families both something to look forward to at the time and to look back on for the rest of their lives. It is also close to my heart to help raise awareness for premature babies and babies that have had to go to NICU.
Please read all the information outlined before making an application.
1) I am a sole trader and do not work with any hospital, charity or organisation. My entry to the hospital is as a guest of the parents and therefore I will only be able to accept applications from the parents themselves.
2) As I am a mother of two small children myself and have a busy studio, lifestyle and events schedule, I will unfortunately only be able to include sessions on one day each month.
3) These are not posed or newborn sessions and I will not move or hold baby. The sessions are lifestyle and the photos will be documentary style.
4) I will not bring props with me; just myself and my camera. If you wish to include a personal item I will always try to work with this in a natural, non-obtrusive way.
5) I offer these sessions from my own experience having a premature baby in NICU and they are a gift that I hope brings the family some joy through quite a difficult time. It is time I am spending away from my own family and it can take a few weeks (occasionally longer) for me to fully process and edit the images afterwards.
6) The session lengths vary depending on the situation but you will be sure to get at least 20 minutes. I select the best 10 images myself and you will receive these via email in medium to high resolution (this is dependant of factors out of my control). If you would prefer high resolution files on a USB, there is a small cost; please mention this in your application.
7) As with all my sessions, parents will need to sign a model release, which allows me to take pictures of themselves and their children. Your session may be blogged on my website and social media but I will not use names or disclose any personal information without asking for permission separately from the session.
8) If you would like your story to be featured on my blog along with these pictures, to raise awareness, I can arrange for a short interview at the time of the photoshoot but please mention this in your application.
9) Please contact me as soon as possible to book these sessions and always feel free to enquire if you have any questions.
